Roxy Phillips was discovered dead in Weymouth in what her family described as a “tragic accident,” prompting a warning about the dangers of live railway lines.
The family of a 15-year-old girl who was killed on a Dorset railway track has issued a warning about the dangers of tracks, stating that they will “never be able to overcome” her death.
Thursday morning, Roxy Phillips was discovered unresponsive on the lines in Weymouth.
Despite the efforts of the responding paramedics, she was declared deceased at the scene.
Roxy’s family said in a statement released by the British Transport Police, “We would like to raise awareness of the dangers of the railway tracks, as most people are unaware that the third rail is active 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
This tragic catastrophe is something that our family will never be able to overcome.
The adolescent was described as a “strong-willed young woman” and an “animal lover” who adored her horse Bradley in particular.
“As a family, we are devastated by Roxy Phillips, our daughter, sister, niece, granddaughter, and cousin,” the statement said.
We as a family have felt this affection through the tributes and kind messages we have received. Roxy was beloved by her friends.
“We will always love and miss you, our beautiful Roxy,” they added.
British Transport Police stated that investigations into the incident continue.
