On suspicion of murder, a 33-year-old woman who is believed to be acquainted with the girl has been arrested and is currently being held in detention.

The identity of the 10-year-old girl who was found dead in a residence in the West Midlands has been released by the police.

On Monday, Shay Kang passed away at a residence in Rowley Regis.

West Midlands Police added that a 33-year-old woman, who is believed to be acquainted with the girl, has been detained and is being held in custody on suspicion of murder.

The police stated, “At this time, no additional suspects are being sought in connection with the investigation.”

Shay, described by mourners as “bright and fun-loving,” was discovered injured at an address in Robin Close at approximately 12:10 p.m. on Monday. She was subsequently pronounced deceased at the location.

Close by, she was a student at Brickhouse Primary School.

The school issued the following statement: “The tragic demise of one of our students has profoundly grieved our institution.

“Shay was a cheerful, bright, and enjoyable child who was universally adored; she will be sorely missed by all.”

Toys, flowers, cards, and notes have been left at the crime site, with one individual noting, “Piercing, princess, you will be sorely missed. Rest easy.”

The investigation is being led by Detective Inspector Dan Jarratt, who stated, “Our sympathies are with the family and friends of the young girl who passed away tragically, as well as all those affected by this terrible loss.
