One victim’s injuries are life-threatening. Self-inflicted life-threatening injuries are being treated on the suspect as well.
A man has been arrested following the stabbing of two persons at a hospital in northwest London.
At 1.18 p.m., armed officers responded to reports that two people had been stabbed at Central Middlesex Hospital.
The Metropolitan Police stated that one of the victims has life-threatening injuries and another has non-life-threatening injuries.
An individual was detained outside the hospital and is receiving treatment for self-inflicted injuries.
His condition is also considered life-threatening, according to police.
Police stated in a statement that officers will remain at the facility while additional searches are conducted, but “at this time they are satisfied that no one else is being sought.”
The incident is not being investigated as a terrorist incident.
Social media reports suggested that patients were required to seek refuge in secure chambers, but this has not been officially confirmed.
“The facility has reopened after being temporarily closed. During our investigation, there is an increased police presence at the hospital,” police said.
The London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust, which operates the hospital, stated that services will “continue as normal” now that the facility has reopened.
The London Ambulance Service announced via Twitter that paramedics, an air ambulance, and a hazardous environment team had been dispatched to the scene.
