A 28-year-old guy is in critical condition in the hospital, and four others have been hurt; however, none of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening. A 22-year-old man experienced leg injuries, a 24-year-old man sustained a hand injury, and a 33-year-old man sustained a wrist injury.
The family of a 26-year-old woman who was killed on Christmas Eve in a Merseyside bar has been left “devastated” and “inconsolable,” according to a new police appeal for information.
Officers believe the woman who was shot in the head was not the intended target of the incident, which also injured four others, one gravely.
They have launched a second plea to the Merseyside public for assistance in apprehending the perpetrators.
On Christmas Eve at approximately 11:50 p.m., the incident occurred at the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey Village, Wirral.
On Christmas Day, Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs stated at a news conference, “Tragically, the victim, a 26-year-old woman, sustained a critical gunshot wound to the head.
“She was transported to Arrowe Park Hospital, but regrettably, she died shortly thereafter.
“Her family has been notified, and on a day when friends should be rejoicing, they are coming to terms with this devastating loss.
“The inquiry is in its earliest phases, but we do not believe the victim, in this case, was targeted. She was out celebrating Christmas with her sister and friends during a time that was supposed to be calm.
What her family is currently experiencing is incomprehensible.
Jenny Sims, the assistant chief constable of Merseyside Police, stated that the gunman’s actions were “completely and utterly reckless” and that those responsible must be apprehended.
She continued, “We’ve already received an amazing response from the public in response to the murder, particularly from individuals who were in the pub last night, but we do need more information to identify those guilty for this heinous crime.”
Our investigation will mainly rely on the information we get from the public, and I ask members of the public and the local community who have any information that could assist us to come forward so we can bring those guilty for the Christmas Eve murder of a young woman to justice.
“She should have had the rest of her life ahead of her; instead, her family can only contemplate what could have been.”
DS Coombs said that the gunman fired shots at the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey Village before fleeing in a dark car, presumably a Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
Four additional people were hurt, including a 28-year-old guy who remains hospitalized in critical condition.

‘Because it was so quiet, I knew it was horrible
Molly Mason, who lives close to the pub, told that the situation appeared “cool and collected,” which led her to believe that something terrible had occurred.
She stated, “Our living room was completely illuminated by blue emergency service lights” “When I peered out the window, I saw dozens of police sirens, an ambulance, and hundreds of people leaving the bar and walking down the street – it was eerily quiet and serene.
“I believe there was a considerable shock. This is horrible because you could sort of sense it in the moment, which is how I knew it. This is due to the lack of drama. No one has been emotional, yelling, or sobbing.
“They were in a state of shock”
In a statement, the bar called the shooting “a tragedy beyond words” and said, “All our thoughts are with the friends and family of our customers, and especially with the family of our customer who lost her life.
We were expected to entertain several guests for Christmas Day meals, but this is unfortunately no longer possible.
Dame Angela Eagle, the representative for Wallasey, referred to the news as “heartbreaking” and urged anyone with information to contact the police.
She wrote, “My sympathies are with the deceased woman’s family and those who have been harmed.”
According to the minister of a nearby church, the bar is the “hub” of the town.
