After her landlord gave her two days to locate a new residence, the pop diva stayed in the workplace of a friend with her husband and two daughters.
Hannah Spearritt, a member of S Club 7, has disclosed she was homeless over the holidays and has spent the past six months living with her family in numerous temporary houses.
Spearritt, 41, said she had to move into a friend’s office because her landlord had evicted her.
In the past six months, the singer has occupied four temporary residences with her partner, Adam Thomas, and their three- and four-year-old children.
Spearritt told The Sun that they had no choice but to relocate after a landlord gave them only two days to find a new residence.
“Our landlord needed the money, and the house sold so quickly,” she explained.
What screwed us over was that we had no time to select another location. We had a place over the holidays but ran out of time to move in. It had only been a few weeks.
“We were permitted to stay in the workplace of our acquaintance. Simply serving as our living room.
“It was surplus space. It was difficult, but you manage, don’t you? Particularly with the children.”
She said, “People believe we are all millionaires, which is regrettably not the case. It was what it was, and we had a good time at the time.”
She stated that the band’s pay was insignificant “in comparison to the money being earned.”
“People believe we must all be billionaires but regrettably it’s just not true.”
In 2018, another member of S Club 7, Paul Cattermole, sold his Brit Award for £66,000, citing “debts to pay.”
The Sun reports that Spearritt made £150,000 per year while performing with S Club 7.
The band enjoyed chart-topping success between 1998 and 2003 before disbanding; however, they have recently rejoined for UK tours.
Spearritt began her acting career following the dissolution of her band, scoring a role in the ITV drama Primeval in 2007, and she later starred in the West End.
The singer disclosed to The Sun that she has also been afflicted with health problems and that she and her partner’s café business has recently stagnated.
She stated, “I suffered a debilitating illness for three months, during which I seldom left my bed.”
“The café has been experiencing delays. The reasons are highly individual. It is life-related and difficult to express.
“But we’re still here in the end. The café will also open. We eagerly anticipate the future.”
Spearritt is the only original member who has not signed up for S Club 7’s reunion gigs this fall, including dates at the O2 Arena in London.
She told The Sun that there was still a possibility she would join her bandmates for the reunion gigs, but it would depend on her health.
