A 51-year-old woman was discovered by police in Droylsden on Friday and died shortly afterward at the scene.
A 28-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murder following the stabbing death of a woman in Greater Manchester.
A 51-year-old lady was found stabbed in Edge Lane, Droylsden, on Friday around midday. She passed away at the scene.
According to Greater Manchester Police, the suspect was apprehended on Friday evening and remains in detention.
Chief Superintendent Phil Davies, Tameside district commander, said officers are “keeping an open mind” while the probe is “infancy.”
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends, as well as the community that has been profoundly affected by this incident,” he added.
“We are determined to uncover the truth and bring the perpetrator to justice.
“I’m asking anyone who witnessed or heard anything to come forward, and if you have any information that could aid our investigation – no matter how insignificant it may seem – please contact the police.”
