The jury in the trial of a TikTok influencer and her mother, who is accused of murdering two crash victims, has been discharged.
Mahek Bukhari, 23 years old, and Ansreen Bukhari, 46 years old, refute the murders of Saqib Hussain and Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin, both 21 years old.
Two men from Banbury, Oxfordshire, were killed early on February 11 after their vehicle left the A46 in Leicestershire.
The new year will see a retrial, the Leicester Crown Court heard.
Mr. Justice Saini explained that the dismissal was “due to juror irregularity” and that it had nothing to do with the alleged behavior of the defendants or the friends and family of Mr. Hussain or Mr. Ijazuddin, but was “strictly internal to the jury.”
Two counts of murder and two alternate counts of manslaughter have been denied by all eight accused.
