After colliding with a vehicle while cycling, Dan Walker, a TV presenter, stated that he is “grateful to be alive.”
The former BBC Breakfast host, who now works for Channel 5, posted photos of his bloodied face captured inside an ambulance to social media.
Mr. Walker, who resides in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and is 45 years old, stated, “A little accident this morning. I am thankful to be alive after being struck by a vehicle on my bicycle.
Although the face is a mess, I don’t believe anything is fractured.
It is unknown where the accident occurred, but the photographs were captured in a Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) vehicle with two staff members.
Mr. Walker lauded the emergency services, stating, “Thanks to Shaun and Jamie for assisting me, as well as the kind officer on the scene. This is a photo of me beaming. “Grateful for the NHS”
Mark Clemmit, a correspondent for Football Focus, was among the well-wishers on Twitter. He wrote, “Mate…Much love from us.
Former professional boxer Tony Bellew added, “Get well soon, Dan,” while Strictly Come Dancing judge Motsi Mabuse wrote, “Wow!!! Get well shortly.”
The incident occurred as strike action disrupted Yorkshire Ambulance services.
Sunday at 18:00 GMT, nearly 1,400 YAS employees who are members of the GMB union walked off the job, resulting in fewer ambulances being available to transport patients.
