Devon and Cornwall Police report that officers were dispatched to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske after the demise of a woman in her sixties.
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder following the demise of a hospital patient in Cornwall.
On Wednesday, a patient in her sixties died at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Treliske, near Truro, according to police.
The Devon and Cornwall Police are treating the death as “suspicious.”
A Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust spokesperson characterized the death as “unexpected.”
A male in his 30s from the Cornwall community of Par has been detained on suspicion of murder.
The police believe that the woman and the suspect are acquainted.
“Efforts are ongoing to identify and notify her relatives,” the spokesperson added.
About the investigation, officers have cordoned off a property.
Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust added in a statement, “We can confirm that we are assisting Devon and Cornwall Police with their investigation into the unexpected death of a patient at Royal Cornwall Hospital.”
