Police have arrested a 27-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman in Cambridge on suspicion of homicide, as well as a 66-year-old man in the Worcester area.

The two men who were fatally shot in Cambridgeshire on Wednesday evening were father and son, according to the police.

“Family matter” was the “primary line of inquiry” for Cambridgeshire Police Detective Chief Superintendent Jon Hutchinson.

It has been extensively reported in the media that this may involve a custody dispute, he explained. That is an active line of inquiry for us,” I can affirm.

The police termed the attacks “targeted.”

Wednesday evening, the bodies of a 32-year-old man and a 57-year-old man were discovered six miles apart in Cambridgeshire at two separate locations.

Local authorities have identified them as builder Gary Dunmore and his son Josh.

Worcester police have recovered a firearm.

In Worcester, a 66-year-old male was arrested. A man aged 27 and a woman aged 33 have also been detained in Cambridge.

All three were detained on suspicion of an assassination conspiracy.

Mr. Hutchinson stated that officers “quickly made two arrests in a hotel near Cambridge.”

He added, “In the early hours of this morning, armed officers arrested a 66-year-old man on the interstate during a joint operation with West Mercia Police.”

After his arrest, his vehicle was searched, and I can affirm that a firearm was recovered.

According to him, the individual is being transported from Worcester to Cambridgeshire for questioning.

The body of a 32-year-old was discovered at a residence in Meridian Close, Bluntisham, shortly after 9 p.m. on March 29.

Seven minutes later, at 9:37 p.m., a caller in Sutton, near Ely, reported hearing gunshots. They discovered the corpse of a 57-year-old man in The Row.

According to Google Maps, the distance between the two locations is approximately 15 minutes.

Mr. Hutchinson stated that an “active line of inquiry” is “understanding whether that firearm was legally owned”. And that forensic work is being conducted to determine if the same weapon was used at both locations.

Also we are investigating whether the inmates knew the deceased and had recent touch with them.

He added that “initial arrests have been made for murder conspiracy – this is likely to change as new information becomes available in the coming hours.”

At this time, police are not searching for any additional individuals in connection with the incident.

Detective Inspector Mark Butler stated at the time of the arrests, “Tonight, we have launched two related murder investigations following the shootings of two men at separate properties in the county.”

“These events will be shocking to locals, and there will be an understandable concern within local communities. However, we are treating these as targeted attacks, and there is no risk to the general public.”

Today, cops and crime scene investigators will patrol the affected areas.

Our sympathies are also with the victims’ families and friends, who are in contact with specially trained officers and assisting our investigation.

A white Peugeot 208 and a shotgun believed to have been used by the offender have been recovered.

Mr. Butler added, “Detectives are now investigating how these events transpired, and we are appealing to anyone who was in either area and saw anyone acting suspiciously or a white Peugeot 208.”
