An individual lost his life when the vehicle he was in was stopped by police officers conducting a homicide investigation.
On Thursday morning, armed officers halted a vehicle on the A52 Bingham bypass in Nottinghamshire.
Upon stopping the vehicle, police discovered that the 46-year-old driver had suffered a severe head injury and died at the scene.
The discovery of a corpse in a Leicestershire field has prompted an investigation into an individual’s disappearance.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) reported that a firearm not issued to the police was found in the vehicle.
The watchdog initiated an investigation after Leicestershire Police informed them of the incident.
Firearm Not Issued to Police Found in Vehicle
According to the force, officers administered first aid to the individual in the Mazda Tamura, but he was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 00:30 GMT.
This incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon after the body of a man in his forties was discovered in an area off Highgate Lane in Plungar.

A 56-year-old man from Grantham, Lincolnshire, was detained on suspicion of murder. He has been released pending the outcome of ongoing investigations.
A cordon remains in place along the A52 between the A46 in Saxondale and the A1 in Grantham, where a 13.6-mile (21.8-km) stretch of road was closed.
Thursday evening, National Highways reported the A52 “is anticipated to remain closed until at least 12:00” GMT Friday.
The IOPC reported that the coroner was notified following the driver’s demise.
“Since then, we have initiated an independent investigation that will examine the circumstances surrounding the police’s involvement,” the statement continued.
Involved officers have provided preliminary accounts, and police body-worn video has been compiled for review.
Leicestershire Police have issued another request for information and witnesses regarding the homicide investigation in Plungar.
