The Metropolitan Police stated that 61-year-old Paul Bryan was apprehended upon his return to the United Kingdom from Spain.
A man was charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of a 63-year-old man in south London 38 years ago.
Paul Bryan, of no permanent residence, is accused of murdering Roman Szalajko on February 7, 1984, at Seaton Close, Kennington.
Later today, the 61-year-old will appear in jail at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on charges of murder and possession and control of identification documents.
Saturday, after he returned to the United Kingdom from Spain via airplane, the police apprehended Bryan.
The family of Mr. Szalajko has been informed of his arrest and charge.
