In response to a complaint that a man was observed entering the Iranian consulate near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, armed police have apprehended the suspect.
The building was cordoned off by elite officers of the BRI intervention brigade of France in response to a witness’s report of an individual allegedly in possession of a grenade or explosive device.
According to French reports, the suspect ultimately evacuated the structure.
Police apprehended an individual shortly after 14:45 (or 12:45 GMT).
Crime scene photographs depicted him being apprehended near the consulate. Following an inspection, BRI officers determined that he did not have any explosives.

According to French media, around 11:00, a man entered the consulate and vowed to exact vengeance for his brother’s demise.
Adjacent roadways in the sixteenth district of the city’s central business district were cordoned off.
Despite the lack of clarity regarding the nature of the threat, the prefect of Paris ordered BRI police to respond immediately.
The vicinity of the consulate, which is close to Trocadero and the River Seine, is a popular tourist destination, and transportation officials reported that the Paris metro was suspended in the area.
