Advocates of five dog breeds that a professional dog trainer himself would never contemplate owning have been cautioned.

Elijah Boateng, 24, a Sydney-based professional with four years of experience at Apex Dog Training, published a video discussing the most undesirable canines for owners.

He explained that certain varieties were either too “wild” or too “boring” to justify the difficulty that can accompany training.

Conspicuous options such as huskies and pugs were included, along with maremma sheepdogs, cavoodles, and greyhounds.

Canines (Huskies):

To begin the list, Mr. Boateng criticised huskies, describing them as “extremely stubborn canines.”

“I dislike their temperaments; they still seem like they belong in the wild rather than in people’s homes,” he stated.

Mr. Boateng elaborated on his point by stating that although huskies are trainable, they are among the most dominant dog breeds and will frequently whine when on a tether.

The Maremma Shepherd Dog:

The maremma sheepdog was ranked second-worst to own after the husky due to the fact that it is “extremely serious” and “not enjoyable to train.”

Mr. Boateng stated, “When you train them, it feels like you’re forcing them to do things rather than working with them.”

Pugs:

Pugs ranked third owing to their infamous respiratory difficulties and their “extremely silly” nature.

“I dislike not only their appearance but also what they stand for,” he declared.

Mr. Boateng stated that he desired a dog that could “survive on its own” and could not rationalise the ownership of one that necessitated surgery for survival.

Cavoodles:

Mr. Boateng controversially listed the incredibly popular and low-maintenance cavoodle as a breed he would never contemplate owning.

In the video, he stated, “These canines are a little bit unsettling and a little bit anxious to me.”

While praising the breed’s manageability, Mr. Boateng stated that he simply desired a dog that he could train effectively, and the cavoodles are out of the question due to his anxiety.

Greyhound Canines:

Greyhounds, the “boring” breed, were discovered to be excellent for lifestyle but “not for training enthusiasts.”

“Greyhounds are incredible… “However, it’s not the type of dog you should attempt to train or play with,” he cautioned.

There was a range of reactions to the video, with numerous viewers defending their respective dog varieties that had been included on Mr. Boateng’s list.

One woman wrote, “As the owner of a husky, I knew they would be on this list. They’re not for everyone, but the breed is often misunderstood until you get one.”

Another woman wrote, “Within five minutes, my greyhound learned to sit, stay, and paw.” “At only two months, I cannot wait to continue teaching him.”

In all honesty, Pugs are the ideal dog breed. Admire their individuality. “You must simply purchase from a reputable breeder or rescue organisation,” remarked a third individual.

Regarding the most desirable dog breeds, Mr. Boateng ranked working canines such as kelpies, German shepherds, and golden retrievers at the top.
