According to the country’s health ministry, at least 49 people have been injured, and rescue operations are still underway.
At least three individuals, including two children, were murdered when two passenger trains crashed in Egypt.
The country’s health ministry reported 49 further injuries.
Five injured are in critical condition, and “rescue operations are ongoing,” the ministry said.
It occurred in the city of Zagazig, the capital of Sharqia province, northeast of Cairo.

According to the railway authority, one train was traveling from Zagazig to Ismailia, and the other was traveling from Mansoura to Zagazig.
Train derailments and collisions are not uncommon in Egypt’s outdated railway system.
Last month, a train collided with a truck crossing the rails in the Mediterranean province of Alexandria, killing two people.
