Two persons were killed and four were injured when a Russian “guided bomb” struck a blood transfusion center in northeastern Ukraine, according to Ukrainian officials.
Volodymyr Zelensky posted an image of a building engulfed in flames as a result of an assault in the Kupiansk, Kharkiv region, on Saturday night.
“This war crime alone says everything you need to know about Russian aggression,” he stated.
Russia has remained silent. It has previously denied all allegations of committing war crimes or targeting civilians.
During the first few days of Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which was initiated in February 2022, Russian troops seized Kupiansk and other nearby settlements.
The region was liberated by a Ukrainian counteroffensive in September of last year, but daily bombardment and missile attacks continue.
Mr. Zelensky characterized the perpetrators as “beasts” on social media.
“For anyone who values life, defeating terrorists is a matter of honor,” he added.
Mr. Zelensky did not specify the number of casualties. Local officials subsequently posted the same image with additional information about the attack on a non-residential building.
President Zelensky also stated that Russia separately launched a missile attack against an aeronautical company operated by the Motor Sich group in the western Khmelnytskyi region on Saturday.
Sunday, Russia’s air defenses obliterated a drone that was approaching Moscow, according to the mayor of the city, Sergei Sobyanin.
Ukrainian drones attacked a Moscow skyscraper twice in succession last week, according to Russian authorities.
Ukraine has not confessed publicly to committing these attacks.
Saturday, Moscow also accused Ukraine of attacking a Russian tanker carrying 11 crew members in the Black Sea, the second such incident in as many days.
The Kerch Strait raid damaged the Sig tanker’s engine compartment, according to Russian marine officials. There were no injuries.
The Kerch Strait separates Russia’s Taman peninsula from Ukraine’s Crimea, which Moscow annexed in 2014.
Ukraine has not commented publicly. However, a Ukrainian security service source told that a maritime drone was used.
According to Russia’s RIA news agency, the Chonhar road bridge connecting mainland Ukraine to Crimea was struck by a Ukrainian missile strike on Sunday.
This is the second Ukrainian missile strike on the bridge since June, when it was closed for maintenance.
Moscow-installed Vladimir Saldo, the regional governor of Kherson, reported via Telegram that a second small bridge linking the port city of Henichesk to the narrow Arabat Spit on Crimea’s north-eastern coast had been bombarded.
A civilian motorist was injured and a gas pipeline was damaged, depriving 20,000 people of gas.
