Who was Olivia Pratt-target, Korbel’s killer’s Joseph Nee?

It is believed that 35-year-old Joseph Nee was released from prison on parole last year when he was automatically released halfway through a fixed prison term.

Joseph Nee, a convicted burglar, has been identified as the man shot and injured by the gunman who murdered Olivia Pratt-Korbel, 9, in Liverpool.

The 35-year-old was believed to be the intended target of the balaclava-wearing assailant who pursued him along the street before Nee forced his way into the family house of a schoolgirl in the Dovecot neighborhood in an attempt to flee.

Nee, from Dovecot, will now be questioned regarding her murder on Monday evening.

It is believed that he was released from prison on parole last year when he was automatically released halfway through a fixed prison term.

Nee was sentenced to 45 months in prison in July 2018 after pleading guilty to two charges of burglary, two counts of auto theft, reckless driving, driving without insurance, and driving while suspended.

Three men were apprehended after leading officers on a high-speed pursuit.

On Monday evening, Cheryl Korbel, Olivia’s mother, heard a noise outside and opened the door, whereupon Nee burst in and the gunman started fire immediately outside.

Ms. Korbel was wounded in the wrist, and her daughter, who stood right behind her, was fatally struck in the chest by the same bullet.

Nee, who was wounded in the upper body during the incident, was transported to the hospital by his pals in a dark-colored Audi and is in stable condition.

Police stated that he has been arrested for allegedly violating the terms of his parole with “bad behavior.”

He will be recalled to prison to complete his remaining sentence.

It is not believed that Nee resided in probation-run housing.

His case has not yet been referred to the Parole Board, which evaluates recalled criminals to determine when they can be re-released.

Merseyside Police issued the following statement: “A 35-year-old man, believed to have been the intended target of the shooting, has been detained in hospital pending recall to jail for violating the terms of his license.

“He will be returned to prison to finish his sentence. He will be questioned more about the murder, and his condition is stable.”
