Prince William acknowledged the “difficult conditions” after three troops collapsed during a royal family military parade on Saturday.
It occurred as temperatures in the United Kingdom surpassed 30 degrees Celsius (86 degrees Fahrenheit) for the first time this year; 30.5 degrees Celsius was recorded at Heathrow and 31.2 degrees Celsius was subsequently recorded in Surrey.
According to the Met Office, 30 degrees Celsius has not been attained this early in England in nearly two decades.
Prince of Wales, who led the Colonel’s Review at Horse Guards Parade in downtown London, honoured soldiers on social media.
In a tweet, he stated, “A huge thank you to every soldier who participated in this morning’s Colonel’s Review despite the weather. You all did an excellent job despite the difficult circumstances. Thank you. W.”
Photographs of the soldiers depicted one being removed on a stretcher by medical personnel.
Prince William reportedly inspected more than 1,400 soldiers and 200 horses from the Household Division’s Welsh, Irish, Scottish, Grenadier, and Coldstream Guards during the Colonel’s Review.
It was conducted in preparation for the Trooping the Colour parade on Saturday.

Before the onset of the heat, the Met Office issued the first heat alert for the majority of England.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued an amber heat-health alert for the West Midlands, East Midlands, East of England, South East, and South West until 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
The heat “likely to be felt across the entire health service… and the entire population, not just the most vulnerable.
Saturday’s high temperature in Kew Gardens, Heathrow, East Sussex, and Surrey reached 30 degrees Celsius around 11 a.m.
“Temperatures continue to rise this afternoon in Chertsey, Surrey, with a current high of 31.2 degrees Celsius,” she said.
“It is not uncommon for June temperatures to reach 30 degrees Celsius. Since records began, all dates except the 13th of June have done so.
The Met Office said this is England’s earliest temperature in over two decades and the UK’s since 2012.
Robinson stated that it took the United Kingdom an “unusually long time” to achieve 25 degrees Celsius this year.
She added, “Somewhere in central or eastern England, temperatures could reach 32 degrees Celsius, but that’s still well below the highest June temperature ever recorded, which was 35.6 degrees Celsius in 1957 and 1976.”
Despite the continued warmth, some areas of the country are experiencing heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds; a yellow thunderstorm warning has been issued for Wales and a significant portion of southern and central England.
