Littler’s brief but ‘crazy’ 30-minute daily dart training

  • Luke Littler’s remarkable darts journey
  • Trains 30-45 minutes daily
  • Despite defeat, newfound celebrity status

Luke Littler, admitting to training for only “half an hour a day,” described his journey to the World Darts Championship final defeat as “insane” and stated that he “hopes to get back to reality” after the tournament.

The 16-year-old, dominating the competition, described his experience as “unbelievable,” adding that “making it to the championship game was an even greater accomplishment.”

When reporters inquired about his daily training duration, Littler responded, “I train alone, so any longer would be tedious.” His daily training schedule is between 30 and 45 minutes.

He quipped, “Since I don’t practise, there must be a great deal of natural talent.”

Littler further provided guidance to individuals striving for success in the game: “Maintain your efforts. Should you adore the game. Persevere, cultivate relationships, and remain steadfast to the platform.

Additionally, Littler reaffirmed that darts “is a sport” and disclosed that he has received messages from players of his favourite football team, Manchester United, including Luke Shaw, Jonny Evans, and Phil Jones, during his “rollercoaster” voyage.

As Littler confronts his 800,000 Instagram followers, he describes the social media frenzy as “irrational” and further states, “I must simply get on with it. Everything will simply require some adjustment.”

The teenager, defeated by world number one Luke Humphries in the final at Alexandra Palace on Wednesday night, added that he was “chilling out” and spending “private time” with his family when he returned to reality.

Back in Warrington, Cheshire, where rumoured fan gatherings have surrounded his residence, he hopes the frenzy that has surrounded his accomplishment “dies down.”

Nevertheless, Littler stated that the entire experience, from the chants “There’s only one Luke Littler” during the very first game, was enjoyable.

Additionally, “The Nuke” Littler congratulated world champion Humphries, age 28, declaring that he “deserved it” for being the “better man on the night.”

With a 4-2 lead over Humphries, the adolescent was poised for a spectacular victory, but the world number one fought back to win 7-4, claiming the title and £500,000 in rewards.

Despite his loss, the young darts player’s life will undergo a transformation. He won a £200,000 reward for placing second, and his celebrity status has granted him an additional £200,000 in earning potential.

The Premier League lineup is announced on Thursday, and Littler may be included in the squad.
