Two accused with arson following Christmas fire at Tory MP’s office

Each of them was additionally accused of one count of arson without intent in connection with a fire that broke out in the restaurant’s rear on the same evening.

Two people have been charged with Christmastime arson at Conservative MP Mike Freer’s office.

On January 3, Paul Harwood, 42, and Zara Kasory, 32, both of no fixed address, were apprehended on suspicion of arson with malicious intent.

Additionally, they were accused of one count of arson without intent in connection with a fire that broke out at approximately 11 p.m. on Christmas Eve at the rear of a restaurant located on Long Lane in Finchley, north London.

No casualties were reported as a result of either incident.

The fire started at Mr. Freer’s office on Ballards Lane in Finchley about 7:00 pm on December 24th.

The London Fire Brigade and the police were dispatched to the location where the fire was extinguished.

According to the Metropolitan Police, the occurrence is not being investigated as a hate crime.

Thursday is the scheduled appearance of both suspects before the Willesden Magistrates’ Court.
