Kevin Spacey was forced to pay $31 million for the cancellation of House Of Cards.

Following sexual harassment charges, Spacey was fired from the Netflix series, causing the production firm to lose millions in revenue.

Kevin Spacey and his production businesses have been ordered to compensate the producers of House Of Cards for losses suffered as a result of his dismissal for allegedly sexually assaulting crew members.

The judgment upholds a private arbitrator’s finding from the previous year in favor of the production companies behind the popular Netflix series.

Multiple claims of sexual misconduct led to Spacey’s removal from the program in 2017.

In November, the Hollywood actor was forced to pay the amount to the independent production company Media Rights Capital in response to “explosive” charges of sexual misconduct involving teenage crew members.

He filed a petition to reverse the order, but Los Angeles judge Mel Recana denied his request.

The initial files from MRC, obtained by the PA agency, described how Spacey was fired from House Of Cards because of allegations that he “systematically preyed upon, sexually harassed, and groped young men he had worked with throughout his career in film, television, and theatrical ventures.”

The arbitrator determined that Spacey regularly disregarded his contractual obligations to perform services “in a professional way” that were “compatible with (MRC’s) reasonable directions, practices, and policies,” including its anti-harassment policies.

The actor played the cunning Frank Underwood for five seasons on House Of Cards before being fired once the charges surfaced.

In the original judgment, the arbitrator determined that Spacey was not entitled to payment for the remainder of his contract, as his dismissal had caused the show’s sixth season to be truncated and rewritten, resulting in millions of dollars in lost revenue for MRC.

It comes after Spacey appeared in a British court to “vehemently” refute additional sexual assault allegations stretching back 17 years.

On July 14 in London’s Old Bailey, he rejected five charges involving three males in their 30s and 40s.

Spacey allegedly committed the alleged crimes in London and Gloucestershire between 2005 and 2013, during his tenure as creative director of The Old Vic.
