Father and son charged with murder of PnB Rock rapper

A father and son have been accused of murdering the rapper PnB Rock.

On September 12, the 30-year-old musician was shot to death at a Los Angeles waffle house.

Freddie Lee Trone, age 40, and his son, age 17, were each charged with one crime of murder, two charges of second-degree robbery, and one count of conspiracy to conduct robbery, according to the authorities.

Shauntel, the spouse of Mr. Trone, has also been arrested and charged with one count of accessory after the fact.

PnB, whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen, rose to prominence with the 2016 release of his single Selfish and had previously collaborated with artists such as Ed Sheeran.

On the day of the shooting, he was eating lunch with his girlfriend when a gunman approached them at Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles in south Los Angeles.

The perpetrator allegedly demanded valuables from the victims before opening fire, removing goods from the victim, and fleeing in a waiting getaway vehicle.

PnB sustained numerous gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead 45 minutes later at the hospital.

The juvenile, whose name was redacted from the charging notification, made his initial court appearance and is set to return on October 19 for a pretrial hearing.

District Attorney George Gascón, the chief prosecutor in Los Angeles, stated that PnB’s murder “dimmed a bright light in the lives of his fans, friends, and most importantly his family.

The claimed actions of the defendants, in this case, were ruthless, and they deprived the world of Mr. Allen’s gifts.

After PnB’s passing, tributes poured in from musicians including Drake, who uploaded a snapshot of the two on his Instagram story.

Offset wrote a tribute on Twitter requesting followers to pray for PnB’s two children, and Nicki Minaj referred to him as “a pleasure to work with.”

Born in Philadelphia in 1991, PnB Rock went on to create two studio albums, Catch These Vibes and Trapstar Turnt PopStar.

His final single, Luv Me Again, was released just two days before the shooting.
