- Travis Kelce surprises at Taylor Swift’s London gig
- Kelce proposed skit, performed dance on stage
- Kelce described experience as an “absolute blast”
Travis Kelce caused a stir among fans when he appeared on stage for the first time with his girlfriend at one of her London gigs – and he’s now revealed the roots of the spoof.
Travis Kelce has admitted that his surprise appearance at Taylor Swift’s London gig was his idea.
The 34-year-old American football player debuted on stage with his girlfriend during the Eras Tour event at Wembley Stadium.
On his podcast New Heights, Kelce told his brother and co-host Jason that he first pitched the skit to Tay.
I wondered, “How funny would it be if I rolled out on one of the bikes in 1989?”
Swift chuckled first, then asked, “Would you seriously be up for doing something like that?”
Kelce explained: “I was like, ‘What? I’d love to do that; are you kidding me? I’ve seen the performance enough; might as well put me to work here.”
He arrived on stage in a tuxedo and top hat, performing a few dance movements before carrying Swift, who appears to swoon, to a sofa.
That was the most nerve-racking portion of the performance, he admitted.
“I told myself, ‘do not drop the baby’. Don’t drop Taylor on your way over this couch.”
The singer then changed into a two-piece sequin outfit, as Kelce pretended to touch up her makeup, and played I Can Do It With A Broken Heart off her current album, The Tortured Poets Department.

Kelce described it as an “absolute blast” and an “honour” to join Swift on stage.
It’s a joyful and lighthearted section of the program.
I did not disappoint Taylor, and that is all that matters, he added.
Kelce also met Prince William and his children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, at one of the Wembley gigs.
On William’s 42nd birthday, June 21st, a group photo was posted to Instagram.
Kelce stated on a prior episode of the New Heights podcast that the Prince of Wales “was the coolest mf“.
They were an amazing thrill to me; I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to bend to them, curtsy, or simply shake their hands like an American moron.
