Megan Thee Stallion was hurt during the incident in the Hollywood Hills in 2020, receiving bullet fragments in her feet.
Tory Lanez was found guilty of three weapons violations in connection with the shooting of hip-hop singer Megan Thee Stallion.
Lanez, 30, was convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, possession of a loaded, unregistered firearm, and negligent discharge of a firearm.
The allegations stemmed from a July 2020 incident in the Hollywood Hills that left Megan Thee Stallion with bullet fragments in her feet.
After leaving a house party in the vicinity, the duo had been in a car together and gotten into an argument.
The Canadian star Lanez, whose actual name is Daystar Peterson, was found guilty after one day of deliberation by a jury of seven women and five men.
Due to his convictions, he could face up to 22 years in prison.
As the verdict was read in a Los Angeles courtroom, Lanez, who was tied and clad in a powder-pink winter coat and matching pants, remained unresponsive.
Megan Thee Stallion is commended for her valor.
After the trial, Lanez’s attorney claimed that Megan Thee Stallion’s best friend Kelsey Harris fired the rounds during a jealous dispute over Lanez.
“She lied about everything from the beginning in this case,” attorney George Mgdesyan said of the hip hop superstar, who claimed that Lanez urged her to “dance” before shooting at her feet.
Megan Pete, whose legal name is Megan Thee Stallion, stated last week, “I’m in shock. I am afraid.
“I can’t believe he’s shooting at me when I hear the rifle discharge”
She stated that their dispute became particularly heated when she began criticizing his music.
Harris earlier named Lanez as the gunman and denied being the shooter.
Prosecutors rejected Mr. Mgdesyan’s claim that Megan Thee Stallion had “lied” and complimented her for her courage in speaking out about the incident.
Alexander Bott, assistant district attorney, stated that the 27-year-old had undergone “a barrage of hatred” and was a “victim of domestic violence.”
After the jury had left the courtroom, Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, jumped to his feet and began shouting at the prosecution, referring to them as “evil, wicked people.”
He was taken from the room and proceeded to yell in the hallway.
