Sarah Beeny has disclosed that she has breast cancer and is currently undergoing treatment.

The 50-year-old real estate specialist is well-known for programs such as Help! My House Is Falling Apart and Sarah Beeny’s New Country Life.

Beeny told the Telegraph that she suffered a “minor breakdown” after receiving the news in a medical examination room.

When Beeny was 10 years old, breast cancer took the life of her mother.

The broadcaster disclosed that she began chemotherapy treatment last week and will have surgery and radiotherapy in the new year.

Beeny has stated that she will continue to work despite her diagnosis, and she is already planning a new Channel 4 series and book for later in the year.

She stated, “I’m fortunate to live in a family where everyone speaks.”

She stated that she intends to utilize her “inner strength” throughout the duration of her treatment.

This summer, the presenter received the news after discovering a lump in her breast.

She informed the newspaper that she and her family recently shaved off her hair rather than wait for it to fall out due to chemotherapy.

After the article was published on Tuesday, other television hosts delivered public expressions of support to Beeny.

Former host of This Morning Fern Britton stated: “I am so sorry to hear that you will be feeling poorly for some time. A difficult path for you and your beautiful family. Keep going.”

Beeny thanked Britton and her other followers for “so many nice messages” in response to the tweet.

Since 2003, Beeny has been married to the artist Graham Swift, with whom she has four children.

As part of the Channel 4 series Beeny’s Restoration Nightmare, she began documenting the reconstruction of the Grade II-listed Rise Hall in East Yorkshire in 2010.
