  • Madonna faces lawsuit
  • Alleged delayed performance inconvenience
  • Late starts in rescheduled tour

The Queen of Pop allegedly delayed a midweek performance until 10:45 p.m.

Two Madonna supporters have initiated legal proceedings against the performer, alleging that she caused inconvenience to attendees by arriving several hours late to her performance.

According to Michael Fellows and Jonathan Hadden, the 65-year-old did not take the stage at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn until 10:45 p.m. on December 13, 2023, which is two hours and fifteen minutes later than the originally scheduled start time of 8.30 p.m.

The postponement of the show’s commencement until approximately 1:00 a.m. resulted in “restricted ride-sharing and public transportation alternatives” or “increased costs for private and public transportation at that late hour,” according to legal documents authored by Richard Klass and Marcus Corwin.

Given that the performance took place on a Wednesday evening, the lawsuit further asserted that a significant number of attendees were obligated to “rise early the following day to attend to work and/or attend to familial obligations.”

Madonna Louise Ciccone, the Queen of Pop, along with event promoters Live Nation and the Barclays Centre, stands as defendants.

Legal Action Against Madonna’s Tardiness

NBC quoted the lawsuit as saying that Mr. Fellows and Mr. Hadden “sought actual harm” as a result of Madonna’s tardiness, including “annoyance, harassment, time, frustration, and anger,” among other things.

The concert was a component of the successful artist’s Celebration Tour, which commenced in October of last year at the O2 Arena in London.

The singer’s severe bacterial infection led to the cancellation of the tour celebrating her 40th anniversary in music in late June in Canada.

On the rescheduled tour, delayed concert starts have been a recurring theme; according to Setlist. fm, a website that tracks the times of major concerts, the star took the stage in Boston, Toronto, and Detroit during her January performances between 9:50 pm and 10:30 pm.
