A court has heard that Kevin Spacey “vehemently denies” allegations that he sexually assaulted three men.
As the humiliated actor departed a silver Mercedes outside Westminster Magistrates’ Court, he was surrounded by cameras.
Thursday morning in London, the 62-year-old actor appeared before Westminster Magistrates’ Court to face four counts of sexual assault and one allegation of inducing a person to engage in penetrating sexual activity without consent.
He was accompanied by two police officers and representatives of his legal team.
As the actor exited a silver Mercedes outside Westminster Magistrates’ Court, he was surrounded by crowds of cameras.
As he was pushed past a line of other court goers and through the entrance before passing security, he remained silent.
The alleged offenses occurred between 2005 and 2013 in London and Gloucestershire.
The claims about three males in their thirties and forties.
These are the fees:
• Two charges of sexual assault against a man in his forties in London in March 2005
• Sexual assault on a man in his 30s in August 2008 in London, compelling him to engage in penetrating sexual conduct without his consent;
• Sexual assault of a guy in his 30s in Gloucestershire in April 2013
Defense attorney Patrick Gibbs QC told the court, “Mr. Spacey vehemently rejects any crime in this instance.”
The actor did not submit any pleas during the session.
The case was adjourned and Spacey was granted bail until his next court appearance on July 14 at Southwark Crown Court.
Spacey has expressed confidence that he will prove his innocence.
Last month, after prosecutors authorized the Metropolitan Police to charge him, he told Good Morning America, “While I am disappointed with their decision to move forward, I will voluntarily appear in the United Kingdom as soon as arrangements can be made to defend myself against these charges, which I am confident will prove my innocence.”
Spacey is recognized for his leading roles in American Beauty, The Usual Suspects, and House of Cards.
