Parts of the United Kingdom have been affected by snow and ice, prompting authorities in certain locations to issue travel warnings.
Large portions of all four nations are under yellow alerts for snow and ice. While an amber notice for snow has been issued for northern Scotland.
A major incident has been declared following the overturning of a double-decker bus in Somerset.
Temperatures overnight dipped as low as -9.8 degrees Celsius, and several schools closed.
Last night, temperatures dropped to between -7 and -10 degrees Celsius over the four home nations of the United Kingdom.

Transport havoc and school closures in the United Kingdom
The coldest night of the year thus far occurred at Topcliffe, North Yorkshire. When temperatures dipped to -9.8°C, and in Scotland and Northern Ireland, where temperatures reached -8°C.
Avon and Somerset Police issued a warning to motorists to “only travel if essential” after receiving over 100 reports in five hours due to “dangerous circumstances.”
The A39 is closed near Cannington due to an accident involving a biker and a bus overturning.
The Avon and Somerset Police stated that conditions were “very icy and hazardous” as a result of freezing overnight temperatures and lingering water from last week’s rainfall.
