Precipitation Warnings
In regions where the ground is already saturated, including Devon, Dorset, the south of Scotland, and Northern Ireland, yellow weather warnings have been issued for precipitation.
Some regions of the United Kingdom could receive as much as 80 mm of precipitation, according to the Met Office.
Beginning Friday night, southern Scotland might get 50mm of snow, while higher ground could get 80mm.
Stephen Dixon, a spokesman for the Met Office, predicted, “The weekend will be wet and gusty.
“A band of heavy rain and wind will move through Scotland beginning at 6 p.m. tonight.” Flooding is a potential consequence of the already saturated ground.
“Another band will move from the south-west to the north-east of the United Kingdom tomorrow morning, bringing heavy rain to much of the country.”
“By the afternoon, the majority of the heavy wind and precipitation will have dissipated, leaving southern regions with only showers.”
In addition, Wales, the Midlands, northern England, and Northern Ireland will experience gusty winds. Specifically, coastal communities bordering the Irish Sea will be affected.
Additionally, the Met Office warned that the weather could cause transport network disruptions, especially along coastal routes that are susceptible to mist and waves.
Mr. Dixon further stated that an additional area of low pressure is expected to develop on Sunday. This development could lead to the issuance of additional warnings.
