Large portions of southeast England are under a yellow weather warning for heavy rain, with further precipitation anticipated for the whole of the upcoming week.
In a region that encompasses Kent, Canterbury, West Sussex, and Chichester, the Met Office has issued a warning that persistent, heavy rainfall may cause floods and disrupt public transportation.
Forecasters predicted that the rain would be severe in the South East on Sunday morning before clearing up in the afternoon.
Sunday’s yellow alert was in effect from 1 am until 4 pm.
The Met Office stated, “Following recent heavy rain, which has saturated the ground, it is expected that another period of heavy rain will occur on Sunday morning before clearing eastward in the afternoon.
The probability of 20-30 mm of precipitation is pretty widespread, with some locations perhaps receiving 40-50 mm.
Monday is expected to be gloomy and rainy in the West, where it will become “quite windy” later in the day, while the East will remain sunny.
Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, heavy rain is likely to return, giving way to sunny periods and showers on Wednesday. More rain is predicted for the northwest on Thursday when it will be windy but moderate.
