Approximately 200 missiles were launched, according to Israeli army radio. Warning sirens rang out in Jerusalem just after 5.30 pm5.30 pm UK time, and explosions were heard.

The Israeli military stated that all people were in bomb shelters as the rockets were fired.

  • Continuous gunfire was heard in Beirut.
  • Four were killed, and seven were injured in Jaffa.

Israeli army radio reported that takeoffs and landings at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion airport had been suspended at 6 pm UK time.

Witnesses told Reuters that they observed dozens of missiles passing over central Jordan, and the country’s national news agency promptly announced the temporary closure of its airspace.

Earlier today, the US warned that Iran was preparing to launch the strike, and Israelis were instructed to “stay close to a protected space.
