Accident left Princess Anne hospitalized with minor bruises and concussion

According to Buckingham Palace, the King has been informed of Princess Anne’s injuries and wishes her a “speedy recovery” with the rest of the royal family.

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Princess Anne had “minor injuries and a concussion” as a result of an incident on Sunday evening.

It is understood that emergency services were summoned to the incident on the Gatcombe Park estate in Gloucestershire on Sunday to treat injuries consistent with being hit by a horse.

The Princess, 73, was subsequently transferred to Southmead Hospital for treatment, where she is expected to stay until later this week.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Palace stated: “The Princess Royal sustained minor injuries and a concussion during an incident on the Gatcombe Park estate yesterday evening.

“Her Royal Highness stays in Southmead Hospital in Bristol as a precautionary measure for surveillance, and she is expected to recover fully and quickly.

The King has been kept well informed and joins the rest of the Royal Family in wishing the Princess a rapid recovery.

The King’s younger sister, Princess Anne, is a senior working royal.

The Palace stated that the Princess is “recovering well”.

Doctors have advised the Princess to postpone her obligations for the coming week, including a trip to Canada planned for the end of this week.

The Princess will also be unable to attend her brother’s state banquet tomorrow in honour of Japanese Emperor Naruhito, who will be in the UK this week with his wife, Empress Masako.

A Palace official stated that Her Royal Highness apologizes to anyone who has been inconvenienced or dissatisfied as a result.
