  • Police offer £20,000 reward

As officers continue to search for suspect Abdul Ezedi, they maintain the belief that he is being assisted by others. Dozens of individuals are examining CCTV footage; his last known whereabouts have been located on a City of London street.

The Clapham chemical attack suspect, according to the police, is “targeting more of his associates” with the help of “others.”

This follows the release of additional images and video of Abdul Shokoor Ezedi, who allegedly used an alkaline substance to harm a mother and two children in Clapham, south London, last Wednesday evening.

On Tuesday afternoon, police provided an update featuring an image of the 35-year-old individual who was last seen at 10:04 p.m. on Wednesday, the previous day. At that time, he was walking towards Victoria Embankment from the Unilever building in central London, situated on the north bank of the River Thames.

Teams have been “working ceaselessly throughout the night and into today” to pinpoint Ezedi’s most recent movements, according to Commander Jon Savell.

“We continue to believe that he is being assisted by others; yesterday, we arrested a man for aiding an offender,” he said, referring to the 22-year-old who was taken into custody on Monday.

More of Ezedi’s associates continue to be the focus of our inquiries.

A reward of £20,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of Ezedi. Police have disclosed that the substance used in the attack was “extremely potent,” “highly concentrated,” and “corrosive.”

On Monday, police reported that the woman, who was known to Ezedi, remains in the hospital in critical but stable condition and may experience vision loss in her right eye.

Meanwhile, her daughters, who are eight and three years old, have sustained non-life-altering injuries.

At approximately 7:25 p.m., Ezedi allegedly flung the younger child to the ground during the assault before crashing into a parked vehicle and fleeing on foot.

The manhunt, directed by the Specialist Crime Command of the Metropolitan Police, consists of over a hundred officers and scores more from British Transport Police and forces throughout the United Kingdom, including Northumbria.

Ezedi’s Trail and Controversial Asylum

“Painstaking work” by counterterrorism detectives, tasked with examining hundreds of hours of CCTV, allegedly located Ezedi on Allhallows Lane in the City of London at 9:47 p.m., according to the police.

At 9:54 p.m., he made his way towards Blackfriars Bridge via Upper Thames Street and Pauls Walk, passing the City of London School en route.

This brought him to his most recent sighting, which occurred six days ago at 10:04 p.m.

There have been over two hundred inquiries regarding possible sightings; however, these have since been reduced in value.

Ezedi, who is presumed to be from Afghanistan, allegedly arrived in the United Kingdom in 2016 via a truck bed.

As per the PA news agency, he successfully resolved charges of sexual assault and exposure, thereby avoiding incarceration.

However, upon receiving a suspended sentence on January 9, 2018, he was ordered to complete 200 hours of unpaid labour and was placed on the sex offenders register for a period of ten years at Newcastle Crown Court.

As the information surfaced, a bishop declared that she would not apologize to religious leaders who supported asylum seekers.

The manner in which Ezedi was granted asylum despite his conviction remains uncertain, with rumours circulating that a tribunal judge sided in his favour subsequent to a cleric attesting to his conversion to Christianity.
