The culprit allegedly sprayed and burned two people in Ealing and Edgbaston.

Two counts of attempted murder have been filed against a man following incidents in London and Birmingham.

Mohammed Abbkr, 28, is accused of spraying a substance on two individuals and then setting it on fire in Ealing, west London, and Edgbaston, Birmingham, on February 27 and March 20, according to the West Midlands Police (WMP).

Following his appearance at the Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on Thursday. He was remanded in custody until his next hearing on April 20 at the Birmingham Crown Court.

During a five-minute hearing, the court was informed that Abbkr, a Sudanese national, allegedly attempted to murder Hashi Odowa and Mohammed Rayaz.

Abbkr’s video-linked attorney did not plead or seek bond.

Mr. Rayaz, 70, was attacked on Shenstone Road in Edgbaston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

A friend stated that he has “serious injuries to his upper body as well as his hands and face.”

They added, “He is unable to even open his eyes. As a consequence of his horrific injuries, he is undergoing multiple skin grafts as well.

A suspect spoke to an 82-year-old guy as they left the Islamic Centre on Singapore Road in Ealing in February.

According to police, the two spoke for approximately five minutes before he was doused with fluid and set on fire. He was transported to the hospital for treatment of severe burns to his face and limbs.

After the incident, Chief Superintendent Sean Wilson of the Metropolitan Police stated, “We fully comprehend the shock that reverberated throughout the community after this incident.”

In the coming days, highly visible patrols will continue around Singapore Road to reassure locals, and I urge anyone with concerns to approach officers.

The West Midlands Police characterized it as a “joint investigation with Counter Terrorism Policing and the Metropolitan Police.”

WMP is requesting that anyone with CCTV, intercom, or other video footage contact them.
