“It’s painful because it’s my heritage, I’m Turkish, and I have so many friends and relatives there,” she said.

“There are family members who have experienced the earthquake. They have been outside and have slept outside.

It is frightening since it involves individuals close to me.

A 7.8-magnitude earthquake and severe aftershocks in Turkey and Syria killed around 7,300 people.

Rescuers, including 77 specialists from the United Kingdom, are desperately attempting to extract survivors from the rubble of collapsed buildings.

Actress Cülcülolu, who once resided and worked in Turkey, disclosed that she had contributed to the rescue effort and appeared in an appealing video for the British Red Cross.

When asked if she would consider traveling with the charity to assist in person, she responded: “Yes, I am there as soon as the possibility presents itself.

“It is my home, and I speak it as a second language. In every way I can, I am willing to assist anyone.”

The 28-year-old urged others to donate, stating, “A little bit of assistance from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Because we need people to rescue those buried beneath the ground.”

Cülcülolu, who won Love Island 2022 with her lover Davide Sanclimenti, was born in north London’s Islington to Turkish parents and resided in Istanbul while performing in Turkish television series.

She described her experience as follows: “We always live on the edge in Turkey – I spent two years in Turkey.

“We are terrified about the next earthquake since it is impossible to predict its onset.

When I lived in Istanbul, I was always afraid, but the fact that so many places and such a large portion of Turkey and Syria have been devastated is so devastating.
