The Met Office predicts that London, the South East, and Scotland may experience temperatures as low as -10 degrees Celsius with snowfall.

The majority of Kent and Sussex will be under a yellow alert on Monday morning.

Additionally, ice warnings have been issued for portions of Northern Ireland, Wales, and northern England.

The chilly snap follows massive flooding that inundated areas of the United Kingdom over the weekend. With more than 140 alerts still in effect.

Overnight, temperatures are anticipated to fall to -2C in London, -1C in Cardiff, -3C in both Edinburgh and Belfast and as low as -10C in portions of the Scottish Highlands.

The Met Office predicts that snow and ice will blanket northern Scotland until Wednesday morning.

Parts of south-east England are expected to have snowfall overnight from Sunday night until Monday morning.

The Met Office has issued a yellow ice warning for the north and portions of central Wales.

Craig Snell, a meteorologist with the Met Office, advised Monday commuters to allow ample time for their travels.

“This might be an issue during rush hour, and it could cause a few issues on the roadways,” he warned.

The possibility of floods persists.

The chilly period follows the weekend’s flooding.

The Environment Agency has issued 86 flood warnings, indicating that flooding is anticipated.

In addition, 141 flood alerts remain in effect, mostly in the west and southwest of England, indicating that flooding is possible.
