Tourist dies in Tenerife after falling into sea.

In Tenerife, a tourist has lost their life after plunging into the water.

On Wednesday afternoon, the 53-year-old male was allegedly attempting to photograph enormous waves during a storm in Puerto de la Cruz.

As water surged along the coastline, emergency services uploaded footage of an air ambulance attempting to rescue him.

Upon being retrieved from the water during high tide, the Czech national was already experiencing cardiac arrest.

A few minutes after being transferred to a helipad where a physician was waiting to provide further care, paramedics attempted to resuscitate him but were unsuccessful.

Due to the severe weather, officials in the Canary Islands had advised the public to exercise caution near the water.

Police social media posts demonstrated how significant damage has been caused by high seas in coastal regions.

Debris and rocks were observed scattered along the beachfront, and homes were inundated due to the ripping of doors by surging water.

Tenerife witnessed the evacuation of approximately forty individuals and over a dozen dwellings due to the perilous conditions.
Local politicians have pledged to implement preventative measures to safeguard properties in the future, citing the tempest as proof that climate change is here to stay.
