Biden: Putin, Hamas aim to ‘annihilate’ democracies.

Oval Office Address After Israel Visit

Following his visit to Israel, the president addressed the nation from the Oval Office for only the second time during his presidency.

The Common Threat: Putin and Hamas

In an unprecedented address from the Oval Office, Joe Biden stated that both Vladimir Putin and Hamas seek to “annihilate” neighboring democracies.

The president addressed the country after his Middle East trip.

“If international aggression is allowed to continue, conflict and chaos could spread in other parts of the world,” he commented.

“Although Hamas and Putin symbolize distinct dangers, they do have one thing in common.” Both of them are intent on annihilating an adjacent democracy entirely.

Prioritizing National Security and Investment

He further stated that ensuring the success of Israel and Ukraine is crucial for the national security of the United States, and that he would be presenting Congress with an urgent budget request for billions of dollars on Friday.

“Don’t miss out! Grab your free shares of Webull UK today!”

The proposal funds Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, humanitarian aid, and border administration.

“It’s a smart investment that’s going to pay dividends for American security for generations,” according to him.

Mr. Biden has delivered this type of address only twice before, in June to commemorate the passage of the debt-ceiling legislation.

He expects political support from Congress by combining all of these concerns into one bill.

The day following his high-stakes visit to Israel, during which he showed solidarity with the country’s fight against Hamas and advocated for increased humanitarian aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, he delivers his speech.

Israel is in preparations to initiate a ground offensive in an effort to exterminate Hamas from Gaza, mere days following a fatal explosion at a hospital in Gaza.

Contrary to the claims made by Hamas officials, Mr. Biden denied Israel’s responsibility for the explosion and stated, “We cannot disregard the humanity of innocent Palestinians who simply seek opportunity and peace to live.”

Geopolitical Consequences and Humanitarian Concerns

He continued by arguing that ordinary Americans should be involved in the conflicts, stating that some are wondering, “Why does it matter to America?”

“I know these conflicts can seem far away,” he reiterated.

However, he continued by stating that America’s adversaries are observing the course of both conflicts and, depending on the outcome, could cause unrest elsewhere in the world.

The White House stated that Mr. Biden spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy prior to his address to reaffirm the United States’ commitment to supporting Kyiv.

The president continued to refine his remarks on Thursday, according to a senior White House official, after consulting with close advisers all week, including on his flight home from Israel.

“Triple hit” of illnesses causing widespread sickness in Australia

Australia is experiencing a significant number of illnesses due to a combination of declining vaccination rates and a triple whammy of flu, COVID-19, and respiratory syncytial virus.  Lockdowns and measures, including the extensive use of facemasks, contributed to a decrease in the number of flu cases during the pandemic.  However, this has resulted in a decrease in immunity and an increased susceptibility to the flu, resulting in 3,696 hospital admissions and 379 fatalities from influenza in Australia last year.
