Chief Superintendent Ghalib Bhayani of the area Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) department stated, “We are still investigating to ascertain if the shooter acted alone.
While the inquiry is still underway, all indications are that no one else was engaged and that there is no ongoing concern for public safety.

The police stated that they responded to “several reports of gunfire with many injuries and multiple separate scenes throughout the city of Langley and one scene in the township of Langley.”
The public was warned to avoid a variety of locations, including a casino parking lot and a bus stop.
The suspect was described as a Caucasian man wearing overalls and a camouflage T-shirt, according to an alert sent to residents by the police.

Over one of the crime scenes, a black tent, presumably for forensic work, was erected.
A nearby unmarked black police SUV’s windshield and driver’s glass were damaged with bullet holes near a Langley Centre store.
A white automobile was parked adjacent to the forensic tent, not far from the black SUV.
A blue sleeping bag and a bicycle were surrounded by orange cones, while a pair of shoes and an article of clothing were taped off in the center of the street.
