  • US House approves $60.8bn aid package for Ukraine
  • Senate expected to pass bill; Biden vows prompt signing
  • Russia warns aid could “further devastate” Ukraine

Lord Cameron, foreign secretary of the United Kingdom, describes the funding as “a vital step forward.” However, Russia asserts that the bill’s ratification will “further destroy” Ukraine and lead to additional deaths.

The United States House of Representatives has authorized foreign aid to Ukraine totaling $60.8 billion (£49 billion).

Democrats and Republicans coalesced following months of impasse regarding the reestablishment of American assistance to Ukraine in its struggle against the Russian invasion.

Small Ukrainian flags were being waved by representatives as it became evident that the package would be approved.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine expressed “gratitude” for the decision, stating that it “maintains the course of history in the right direction.”

He stated that democracy and freedom will perpetually hold international importance and will never fail so long as the United States assists in its defense.

The crucial US aid bill that the House of Representatives today passed will prevent the conflict from escalating, aid in the strengthening of both of our countries and save tens of thousands of lives.

Legislators also authorized the passage of bills proposing security assistance for Taiwan and its allies in the Indo-Pacific, foreign aid to Israel, and humanitarian relief to Palestinians in Gaza, as well as a measure containing several foreign policy proposals, including a threat to ban the Chinese-owned social media application TikTok.

The package will presently proceed to the United States Senate, where its passage is probable on Tuesday. After that, President Joe Biden pledged to sign the document immediately.

Mr. Biden stated, “I urge the Senate to expeditiously deliver this package to my desk so I can sign it into law and enable us to expeditiously supply Ukraine with weapons and equipment to meet their urgent battlefield requirements.”

The bill will “further destroy” Ukraine, warns Russia.

Moscow stated that the bill’s ratification would “further devastate” Ukraine and lead to additional fatalities.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for the Kremlin, told the TASS news agency that a provision permitting the United States to seize and transfer confiscated Russian assets to Ukraine for reconstruction purposes would tarnish the country’s reputation.

“Ukraine will and is capable of winning.”

Lord Cameron, foreign secretary of the United Kingdom, described the funding as “a crucial step forward.”

“Take a step towards financial freedom – claim your free Webull shares now!”

He tweeted that if Putin ever had doubts about the West’s determination to support Ukraine, this demonstrates that our collective will is unwavering.

With assistance, Ukraine is capable of and will prevail.

However, Republican representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, an ally of Donald Trump who has opposed aiding Ukraine in its conflict with Russia, stated that “voters have been preoccupied with foreign wars and the war industry.”

She declared after the vote’s approval, “Today, America has been sold out. “I believe every American would be enraged if members of Congress began waving the Ukrainian flag on the floor of the United States House of Representatives while we do nothing to secure our border.”

As Ukraine’s military supplies started to diminish in October, Mr. Biden initially requested the funds.

Mr. Zelenskyy urged Congress in February to approve the financing, stating that “it will leave me wondering what world we are living in” if it was not approved.
