According to her team, Kamala Harris’ campaign raised $200 million in the week after Biden’s endorsement, and the vice president appears to be boosting interest in her candidacy.
Harris, for President, stated that approximately 66% of the total came from first-time contributions, citing “unprecedented grassroots support.
On Sunday, former Vice President and climate activist Al Gore backed Harris, and more than 170,000 volunteers have signed up to assist the Harris campaign with phone banking, canvassing, and other get-out-the-vote operations, according to Michael Tyler, the campaign’s communications director.
Vice President Harris has only been a candidate for a week. Still, she has already rallied the Democratic party behind her candidacy, and the organic, grassroots passion is yielding dividends, Tyler added.

According to the Harris campaign, the intention was to collect $400,000, but it raised approximately $1.4 million.
Future Forward, the largest Super PAC in Democratic politics, reported last week that it received $150 million in donations in the first 24 hours after Biden stepped out of the race.
Gore, who served as vice president under Bill Clinton and endorsed Harris, announced his endorsement on Sunday, bolstering Harris’ environmental credentials. Harris has already received support from numerous environmental groups, including Evergreen and the Sierra Club.
