Family and friends of the bride and groom were reportedly present at the wedding when the groom’s heart ceased beating approximately an hour into the ceremony, with one guest describing the incident as ‘not survivable.

According to local reports, a woman in Iowa became a widow just 10 minutes after her wedding when her spouse died of a fatal blood clot.

Bride Johnnie Mae Davis married Toraze Davis, 48, on June 19, a holiday known as Juneteenth, in Nebraska.

Toraze died “within seconds” when his heart stopped beating an hour into the wedding, according to Des Moines, Iowa’s KCCI.

Family and acquaintances of the bride and groom attended the wedding, which took place on Juneteenth in recognition of the holiday and honor of Johnnie Mae’s grandmother’s birthday.

Monica Miller, who collaborates with Johnnie Mae at ECO Supportive Living, stated, “It was Toraze’s proudest day. I could see the smile and happiness on his face.

“I knew he was having a great day based solely on his energy,” the speaker said.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Ms. Miller launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise £100,000 to assist with “burial expenses for Toraze and money to help the new bride with their children.”

Ms. Miller continued, “We want to emphasize that we want to be able to care for her and… nurture her children and ourselves.”

As of Tuesday morning, over £21 thousand had been raised.

“[Johnnie Mae] goes above and beyond for the elderly and disabled population we serve,” she continued.

I want the community and all of us to support her in the same manner she does daily.

Jewel Roberson, a wedding attendee, told KCCI that the medical event was “not survivable.” And she hopes the funds will assist Johnnie Mae with home maintenance.
