The car’s wreckage was discovered in a gully near Pine Flat Lake, and authorities believe the victim was out for a drive when the tragedy occurred.

A body found in a car that allegedly plunged off a cliff is believed to be that of a lady who was reported missing in California two months ago.

NBC News stated that Jolissa Fuentes, 22, was reported missing for the first time on August 8.

On Monday, the wreckage of her car was discovered in a gully near Pine Flat Lake, in the Sierra Nevada foothills of Fresno, California.

After two months, a woman's body was discovered in a car at the base of a cliff.

According to NBC News, investigators do not suspect any unusual circumstances surrounding the woman’s death, and she may have been driving when the accident occurred.

Rudy Alcaraz, the chief of police in Selma, stated, “We wish we had better news to deliver.

“I wish we could have taken Ms. Fuentes home with us.

Joe Fuentes, the woman’s father, referred to the police chief as “my hero” because he “promised me he would find my daughter.”

Margaret Mims, sheriff of Fresno County, stated, “There is little doubt that we have located her.”

The vehicle’s tire tracks could be seen moving through the undergrowth toward the cliff’s edge, according to the police.

Reaching the crash location required the employment of specialized equipment by search and rescue teams.
