  • Kamala Harris leads Trump by 5 points among registered voters after their first debate
  • Harris viewed as more presidential, Trump as more confrontational
  • Harris leads Trump 50% to 45% in a Yahoo News/YouGov poll conducted after the debate

According to recent polling following the presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris now leads Donald Trump by five points among registered voters.

The two candidates faced up for the first time on Tuesday in an ABC News debate in Philadelphia, where they argued for more than an hour and a half about abortion, the economy, and foreign policy.

Harris won the debate and appeared to be more presidential, while Trump was deemed the most confrontational.

According to fresh polling from Yahoo News/YouGov, the vice president now leads Trump by five points among registered voters in a head-to-head matchup.

A poll of 1,755 adults in the United States from September 11 to 13 revealed that 50% would vote for Harris and 45% would vote for Trump.

Before the debate, Harris trailed Trump among independent voters by nine points (35 percent to 44 percent). According to the latest survey, she leads that bloc by ten percentage points, 47 percent to 37 percent.

While national polling has Harris leading, a new poll in Michigan, a critical swing state, indicates worrying signs for the vice president as she seeks to secure the Democratic ‘blue wall.’

According to the InsiderAdvantage poll, Donald Trump leads by one point in the state.

It has the Republican nominee at 49 percent and Harris at 48 percent, indicating an incredibly close contest in the must-win state for Democrats on their way to the White House.

The InsiderAdvantage poll of 800 potential voters was conducted on September 11 and 12, following the presidential debate.

In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump revealed that he will not face the vice president in another debate.

After openly dismissing proposals for another debate with the vice president, Trump rejected the concept on Thursday.

‘When a prizefighter loses a battle, the first words he says are, “I WANT A REMATCH.” Trump added, “Polls clearly show that I won the debate against Comrade Kamala Harris, the Democrats’ Radical Left Candidate, on Tuesday night, and she immediately called for a second debate.”

‘She and Crooked Joe have devastated our country, with millions of criminals and mentally ill individuals pouring into the United States uncontrolled and unvetted, and with inflation bankrupting our middle class,’ he added.

The former president said, ‘Everyone knows this, and all of the other difficulties brought by Kamala and Joe – It was discussed in great depth during the First Debate with Joe and the Second Debate with Comrade Harris.’
