A 14-year-old youth is currently detained, and police are searching for the involved bicycle. Officers have issued an appeal for assistance in locating it, stating, “This is not about protecting people; it’s about doing the right thing.”

The mother of a seven-year-old girl killed in a hit-and-run accident in Walsall has expressed her “bleeding heart.

Katnis Selezneva was struck by a motorbike on Turnstone Road in Blakenall shortly before 7 p.m. on Thursday, prompting police to respond.

She was discovered with life-threatening injuries and transported to Birmingham Children’s Hospital, where she subsequently died.

A 14-year-old boy has been apprehended and is currently detained.

Officers are attempting to determine the make and model of the blue and black bicycle as they seek it.

Tsvetelina Selezneva, the girl’s mother, announced her name in a Facebook post.

She penned, “God took her too young and frail. I lack the fortitude and do not wish to say farewell to you, my star.

“How to let you go, my heart bleeds and my soul aches. Who will care for you now, my savior, up there? I am helpless, words are insufficient, there is no consolation!”

She reported that her daughter told her daily, “I love you, Mom, and you are the best mother.”

Ms. Selezneva wrote to her daughter, “Your father was pleading with you to open your eyes – ‘Katniss, your father is here, open your eyes!’ – but you closed them forever!”

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes of the West Midlands Police stated, “This is a tragic incident that resulted in the death of an innocent child.”

“We have yet to recover the involved motorbike, and I am certain that someone in the local community knows where it is.

“I now need that community to come together and work with me.”

“This is not about protecting people; it’s about doing the right thing,” he added.

Flowers, balloons, and plastic animals have been left as tributes at the scene.

“I will always recall your beautiful soul. “Thinking of and praying for your family,” read one note affixed to a bouquet of vibrant flowers.

The alternative phrase is “Rest in peace, beautiful girl.”
