According to a report commissioned by Deliveroo, a technology dubbed BreathTech could be developed to provide “a deep level of insight” into the optimal diet.

Another suggestion is that virtual and augmented reality could be used to convince individuals who avoid vegetables that they are consuming chocolate or sweets.

If a person desired to reduce their alcohol intake, “wine” cordials that imitate the taste and flavor profile of actual wine could be introduced.

Amaranth, fonio, sorghum, teff, Khorasan, einkorn, and emmer are predicted to become mainstream alternatives to maize and maize by 2040.

“Edible beauty” products, which could include anti-aging ice cream and the opportunity to dine on hormone-balancing and dopamine-inducing menus, are another predicted trend.

The report, titled Snack to the Future, also envisions virtual reality dinner parties, which would enable consumers to construct their dream scenarios, possibly involving celebrities.
