A court has ruled that the Green Party engaged in discriminatory treatment towards former deputy leader Dr. Shahrar Ali on the basis of his gender-critical views.

After being removed from his position, Dr. Ali initiated legal proceedings against the Green Party of England and Wales, marking the inaugural instance of its nature.

The Green Party acknowledged that its dismissal of Dr. Shahrar contained “procedural deficiencies.”

The judgement of the Mayor’s and City County Court awarded Dr. Ali £9,100 in damages.

The remaining allegations were vacated.

In February 2022, the party dismissed Dr. Shahrar from his position as spokesman for policing and domestic safety.

Attorneys representing Dr. Ali contended in court documents that Green Party officials “collaborated” to remove him from his position on the basis of his views regarding gender, which include the conviction that “biology is real and immutable.”

The outcome was dubbed a “landmark case” by Dr. Ali.

Dr. Ali, speaking outside the courtroom, demanded that the Equality and Human Rights Commission conduct an investigation into the Green Party’s approach to trans rights discussions.

He added that an independent investigation “into the hostile environment in political parties across the left” ought to be established.

He asserted that the Green Party in England and Wales is currently unruly.
