Rebecca Adlington, a former professional swimmer, has disclosed that she has experienced a miscarriage.

At 20 weeks, the double Olympic gold medalist and her spouse Andy Parsons were informed of the news during a routine scan, according to her.

On Sunday, Adlington, a resident of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, documented her anguish on Instagram.

Since October 1, the 34-year-old mother of a daughter and a son had been planning to give birth to a child.
