According to witnesses, mourners watch in horror as a man attempts to touch the Queen’s casket.
Police have apprehended a guy after a witness claimed he “rushed up to the casket of the Queen” in Westminster Hall.
Tracey Holland, a witness, told: “Someone chose to shove my [seven-year-old niece] out of the way, go up to the casket, raise the flag, and attempt to do who knows what.
The cops apprehended him less than two seconds after she was removed from the path.
She said, “Dreadful, absolutely terrible, so insulting and outrageous; and this poor seven-year-permanent old’s memory of the Queen is this.”
The Metropolitan Police stated, “At approximately 10 p.m. on Friday, September 16th, officers from the Met’s Parliamentary and Diplomatic Protection Command apprehended a man following a disturbance in Westminster Hall.”
He was arrested for a violation of the Public Order Act and is being detained.
A representative for the British Parliament stated, “We are aware of an incident in Westminster Hall in which a member of the public moved from the queue to the coffin” (raised platform).
Now that they have been removed from the hall, the line has resumed with minimal disturbance.
Wednesday, a 19-year-old guy allegedly exposed himself and shoved mourners from behind while they waited in line at Victoria Tower Gardens.
