The day before Christmas Eve, a handful of employees at the Milton Keynes University Hospital in Buckinghamshire was informed that the money must be returned since they were ineligible for the payment.

Between July and December of last year, the hospital sponsored a program. In which staff members who worked five to ten additional shifts received either a £150 or a £300 payout in their December paychecks.

Nevertheless, several employees who had not performed the extra shifts were paid in error.

A hospital official told that it was unclear how many employees had received the payment in error But that it was believed to be “a handful.”

They said that people who received the payment were notified as soon as the issue was discovered. And instructed that the funds would need to be refunded.

The staff can reimburse the funds through an “affordable repayment mechanism,” according to the spokeswoman.

A hospital representative stated, “Between July and December, MKUH operated a program in which employees. Who worked five to ten additional shifts received either £150 or £300 in their December salary.

“There were several stipulations associated with this program. Because it was designed to encourage the acceptance of shifts that were difficult to fill.
